Future Skills Needs Report

Summit Finuas Network is currently developing a Future Skills Needs Report for the international financial services (IFS) sector. Due to be published during H2, 2015, the report findings will ensure that Finuas provision remains relevant and enhances the specialist skills and expertise of people employed within the sector. The need to ensure that future provision meet the changing needs of enterprise was highlighted in IFS2020, the Government’s new Strategy for Ireland's IFS Sector, launched during March 2015.

New Strategy for Ireland’s International Financial Services (IFS) Sector

On March 11 2015, the Government launched IFS2020 - the new Strategy for Ireland's IFS Sector. The overarching IFS2020 target is to grow the level of direct employment in the IFS sector from its current level of 35,000 to 45,000 people by 2020. The Strategy acknowledges that realising this growth potential relies on the availability of high quality skills that meet the needs of a sector that is facing both significant challenges and opportunities in an international context. Finuas has been assigned responsibility for 2 of the 6 actions contained in IFS2020 that relate specifically to skills development.
